7 March: Emergency Vigil for Gaza: CJPP organised an emergency Rally for Gaza which was supported by the General Union of Palestinian Workers, Stop the War Coalition, and Jews Against the Occupation, amongst others.
12 March: CJPP helped garner support for an initiative by Paul Heywood Smith QC, the Chairperson of the Australian Friends of Palestine Association (AFOPA) to place an advertisment in The Australian newspaper on 12 March 2008 protesting against the Prime Minister’s motion to honour the 60th anniversary of Israel’s founding.

9 April: Film event: CJPP screened the documentary film Leila Khaled: Hijacker.
3 May: May Day Rally: CJPP fielded a speaker at the annual Sydney May Day rally, recognising the significance of the 60th year of the Nakba for the Palestinian people.
9-19 May: International guest Ali Abunimah: CJPP sponsored the visit of Ali Abunimah to Australia, coordinating his Australian tour in conjunction with solidarity groups in Canberra (AJPP), Melbourne (AFP) and Adelaide (AFOPA). In Sydney, Abunimah spoke at the University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Western Sydney, Macquarie University and Gleebooks. He also delivered the annual Nakba Commemoration address for the 60th year of the Palestinian Nakba (“catastrophe”) at NSW Parliament House on 15 May.
24 July: Film event: CJPP screened the documentary film Lebanon Burning, by Peter Manning.
1 August: Andrew Vincent Memorial Lecture, Macquarie University: CJPP members were invited to attend the first memorial lecture for respected Macquarie University academic, the late Dr Andrew Vincent.
3 August: CJPP Planning Day: a day for members and friends to contribute to the strategic planning of CJPP’s campaigns and activities.
19 August: Memorial for Mahmoud Darwish: CJPP members attended a memorial for the respected Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish. The memorial event was held by the General Union of Palestinian Workers (GUPW) at the Palestinian Club in Guildford (Sydney).
12-18 October: International guest Dr Sara Roy: CJPP hosted visiting academic, Dr Sara Roy, on the Sydney leg of her Australian tour. Dr Roy was in Australia to deliver the annual Edward Said Memorial Lecture at the University of Adelaide. In Sydney, Dr Roy at the University of NSW, Macquarie University, University of Technology Sydney and the Seymour Theatre Centre, as well as at a CJPP members dinner.
29 November: Film event: CJPP screened the documentary film Jerusalem: East Side Story, by Mohammad Alatar, for the first time in Sydney, in recognition of the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
28 December: Media Release: As the Israeli “Operation Cast Lead” military invasion of Gaza erupted, CJPP sent out a press release titled “The Slaughter of Palestinian Civilians in Gaza Must Stop”.
29 December: Rally: CJPP participated in a snap rally called by various Sydney activist groups to protest Israel’s “Operation Cast Lead” invasion of Gaza.
